As spring quietly arrives, Perth is adorned with new buds and the fragrance of flowers. Embracing this vibrant season, Chung Wah Community Care (CWCC) organised a special outdoor excursion. They took seniors to the picturesque Araluen Botanic Park to connect with nature and soak in the splendor of spring.
The trip was perfectly timed to coincide with the Spring Tulip Festival at Araluen Botanic Park. Thousands of vibrant tulips, along with camellias and roses, danced in the sunlight, creating a stunning display. Stone column corridors meandered through the lush native forests, forming a one-of-a-kind landscape that captivated numerous visitors. This breathtaking scene was an extraordinary visual treat for seniors who don't often embark on long journeys.
Taking into account the limited mobility of some seniors, CWCC thoughtfully arranged a bus service to transport everyone deep into the park, eliminating the need for extensive walking while allowing our seniors to comfortably enjoy the scenery along the way. Upon arrival, the seniors were immediately immersed in the vibrant sea of flowers, eagerly taking photos of the picturesque surroundings. Some even hummed tunes from their homeland, their melodies floating through the air and drawing smiles and attention from other visitors.
Spring is the perfect time to refresh both body and mind. The fresh air, gentle sunshine, and abundant greenery helped the seniors relax and relieve stress. Outdoor outings also sparked curiosity and a spirit of exploration, offering seniors a chance to rediscover life's beauty through observing plants and animals.
One senior remarked, "The scenery here makes you feel so full of life; I feel rejuvenated." A few other seniors sat on park benches, chatting and admiring the flowers as the breeze gently blew, their faces radiating relaxation and joy. This "out and about" lifestyle is key to maintaining vitality and a positive outlook for seniors.
This trip to Araluen Botanic Park is just the beginning. As the weather continues to warm up, CWCC will organise more exciting outdoor activities, encouraging more seniors to step outside and explore the beauty of Australia. Stay tuned for CWCC's upcoming events, and get ready to embark on more beautiful outings.
