During the National Volunteer Week in Australia, Chung Wah Community Care (CWCC) hosted celebratory events for its volunteer team to show appreciation for their selfless dedication. Among these events, the two-day trip to Bunbury stood out as the most popular. It offered an enriching experience that combined culinary delights, scenic views, and local cultural interactions, allowing everyone to relax and rejuvenate away from their busy volunteering schedules.
On the morning of May 26th, a group of over 20 volunteers set off from CWCC's community hub, embarking on a journey to Bunbury in the southern part of Western Australia. After a delicious lunch, the group made a delightful stop at Meadow Springs in Mandurah. Embracing the crisp autumn breeze, they flew kites and played across the expansive grassy fields, filling the air with laughter and joy.
The group also walked along Australia's longest wooden jetty, where everyone briskly made their way to the end, displaying an energetic spirit. Volunteer Lan Ying commented, "Just like volunteers' hard work at CWCC, their vibrant energy continuously brings positive vibes to the community."
In the afternoon, the CWCC volunteer team visited Bunbury Farmers Market, immersing themselves in the bustling atmosphere of a wide array of fresh produce and baked goods and enjoying a memorable time.
This trip not only reciprocated the volunteers' long-standing contributions but also strengthened the team's cohesion and commitment. The volunteers expressed that such activities not only made them feel cared for and appreciated by CWCC but also motivated them to continue their spirit of service in future volunteer work, contributing their strengths to the community.
