When we often ask people why they chose Australia as their new home, many immigrants highlight its comprehensive social welfare as a fundamental factor. Indeed, Australia boasts an extensive social welfare system, particularly noted for its exceptional aged care services. Currently, over 1.8 million elderly individuals benefit from various aged care services nationwide.
At Chung Wah Community Care (CWCC), it's not just about the completeness of the system; it's about our unwavering dedication to delivering high-quality services tailored to the unique needs of our community. As a government-accredited service provider, we have been at the forefront of this mission for the past forty years. We are a non-profit organisation that primarily serves non-English speaking elderly, offering a diverse range of services both at home and through our community hubs. From our humble beginnings with just a handful of volunteers, CWCC has grown to a dedicated team of nearly 200 employees operating three community hubs across the Perth metropolitan area.
Since 2023, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission has hosted an annual national conference, and CWCC has been fortunate to participate. This year, two of our colleagues attended the three-day conference in Adelaide, where they gained valuable insights and information on aged care service reforms. This new knowledge will empower us to continue enhancing our services, ensuring that we provide our community with the most relevant and progressive support.
