As we all know, health matters regardless of age, gender and abilities. So, to promote and cultivate good health, Chung Wah Community Care (Chung Wah CC) participated in the Health Matters Expo in Rossmoyne, south of the river. The expo aimed to provide helpful information and services to promote health and well-being for the greater public.
Approximately 100 community members attended this event, and our Chung Wah CC's Carer Gateway team ran a booth to promote our Carer Gateway program. In addition, we delivered important messages to all participants: "Carers also need care too!" The Carer Gateway program can provide free and helpful support for carers from all walks of life.
Many people tend to overlook the fact that they are actually carers. Suppose you provide unpaid care and support to family members or friends who are living with disability, a medical condition, mental illness, or frail aged, you are concerned as a carer! Carer Gateway is a free support program initiated by the Australian government, offering carers emotional, social, and other practical support.
Chung Wah CC is a member organisation of the Carer Gateway program, providing support services to carers from non-English-speaking backgrounds, helping them access relevant information and support from the program.
