On October 5th, Chung Wah Community Care (CWCC) proudly participated in The Grand Filipino Fiesta, a vibrant cultural celebration hosted by the Filipino Australian Club of Perth (FACPI). The event was filled with energy, showcasing traditional performances, food stalls, and cultural exhibitions that drew a large and enthusiastic crowd. Attendees were inspired by the lively atmosphere and colourful display of Filipino culture.
As a vital part of Australia’s multicultural landscape, the Filipino immigrant community displayed their unique spirit during the festivities. The day kicked off with spirited sports performances, while the children were captivated by the fun and creativity of the body painting activity, which added an extra layer of excitement to the event. In the afternoon, the celebrations soared to new heights with captivating Filipino music and dance performances, bringing cheers from the crowd. The tantalising aromas of traditional Filipino dishes wafted from food stalls, enticing local Australians to pause and savour the authentic tastes from afar.
As a long-standing partner of the Filipino community for many years, CWCC was proud to hold a booth at the event. Our staff warmly connected with Filipino and Australian attendees, eager to share the comprehensive range of services we offer, such as aged care, family support, and health management. We noticed that many Filipino seniors were particularly interested in learning how CWCC could help enhance their well-being, and we were honoured to provide that information and support.
Beyond interacting with eventgoers, CWCC also took the opportunity to connect with community leaders and cultural representatives, sparking conversations on how to further personalise services for Filipino seniors and other culturally diverse groups. CWCC reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to supporting every community member in need and expressed hope that cultural exchange events like this would raise awareness, inspire participation, and ensure that the support CWCC offers is felt throughout the community.
CWCC has long been dedicated to advancing the well-being of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. In addition to showing support at events, CWCC actively implements meaningful initiatives that make a difference. For instance, last spring, CWCC organised a relaxing trip to Araluen Botanic Park exclusively for Filipino seniors. The outing offered them a peaceful break from daily life, allowing them to reconnect with nature and each other. It reflected CWCC’s deep understanding of the community’s needs and ongoing mission to provide personalised, culturally sensitive services to CALD seniors.
CWCC’s involvement in the Filipino community continues to boost its visibility and strengthen its reputation. Looking ahead, CWCC is committed to expanding its relationships with other cultural groups, fostering greater understanding, cooperation, and support across different communities. CWCC aims to broaden its services, providing compassionate care to more seniors and vulnerable individuals and enhancing social cohesion throughout Perth’s multicultural landscape.
