As the cold breeze gently cools Perth, the crisp March weather bids farewell to the hot summer, and the long-awaited autumn finally arrives.
In this special season, Chung Wah Community Care (CWCC) organised a collective autumn birthday celebration for seniors born in March, April, and May. CWCC staff and volunteers sang the festive "Happy Birthday" song in various languages at the Balcatta and Willetton Community Hubs, wishing the seniors a long and healthy life. They also presented delicious cakes to the guests with many happy blessings.
CWCC's goal is continuous improvement, and we constantly add new elements to the activities at the hubs. To properly honour the occasion for the birthday celebration, formal invitations were sent to each guest, and they were encouraged to bring along their gardening achievements to share the joy and insights of their cultivation.
At CWCC, the quarterly birthday celebration is not just a simple celebration but also a testament to the seniors' achievements over the past year at the community hubs and at home. This includes the results of gardening enthusiasts' cultivation and the fitness achievements of sports enthusiasts. These efforts benefit the seniors' physical and mental health and help them maintain their "active ageing" status. At Evergreen College, seniors can freely choose their favourite projects to exercise their bodies and minds. CWCC encourages them to be self-reliant, lifelong learners, and daring to try new things. By assisting seniors in restoring and maintaining their daily self-care abilities, they can reintegrate into the community and enjoy a healthy and meaningful golden age.
This year's New Year's wish is "Progressing with the Times, Embracing the Future". CWCC hopes seniors will remain curious about new things and bravely face unknown challenges. Because of the seniors' experience and wisdom, they can continue to provide valuable support for the future of the community. As autumn arrives, let's work together to contribute to the harmony and development of the community.
