Forget the November blues because Perth has switched its winter coat for bright summer shades! On this brilliant day, our seniors at Chung Wah Community Care (CWCC) are soaking up the sunny vibe with a beautiful summer birthday gathering.
The Bureau of Meteorology estimates that January and February 2024 will be hotter and drier than usual. However, the seniors enjoy the comfortable air-conditioned environments at CWCC. The air is buzzing with birthday cheer in multiple languages at the Balcatta and Willetton Community Hubs as CWCC throws a festive soiree for those born in December, January, and February. CWCC's staff and volunteers sang the joyful "Happy Birthday" song, wishing our seniors a long and healthy life. Delicious cakes were also served to the guests to express our full respect and blessings. To enrich the sense of ceremony at the birthday party, formal invitations were sent to each guest, and all guests were encouraged to bring and share their gardening achievements.
At the quarterly birthday bash, it's more than just cake and candles. It's a celebration of life, a pat on the back for all the year's triumphs, big and small. Whether tending a flourishing veggie patch or conquering the treadmill with newfound enthusiasm, every senior's achievements are applauded.
At CWCC, we understand that staying young is about keeping the mind and body active. That's why the Evergreen College is a treasure trove of classes and activities. It's a place to learn, laugh, make new mates, and prove that life's a grand adventure, no matter your age.
It is a time of celebration and recognition of the seniors' hard work in the community hubs and at home in the past year. This includes the fruitful achievements of gardening and fitness enthusiasts in physical exercise. Both greatly benefit older people's physical and mental health, keeping them in a state of "happy elderly".
Seniors can freely choose their favourite projects to exercise their body and mind at Evergreen College. CWCC encourages seniors to be self-reliant, lifelong learning, and dare to try new things. We help seniors recover and maintain their daily self-care abilities so that they can rejoint the community family and spend a warm and meaningful time together.
Chung Wah has been servicing the WA community since 1909, dedicated to improving the quality of life of individuals from diverse backgrounds. Moreover, Chung Wah CC has over 35 years of professional care experience helping seniors and people with disability improve their well-being and better integrate into the community. In 2023, we're promoting our theme, "Embrace, Elevate & Flourish", and build a better community for all.
